Damien Shaw is now on a completely different level. His experience of a first season in the pro bunch last year was clearly used to good effect during the winter months.
Irish cyclist Damien Shaw ended stage 1 of Le Tour de Bretagne Cycliste (2.2) in France yesterday 4th overall.
He also holds the lead in both the climbers' and combined classifications after spending the day on the attack.
Pulling clear with former WorldTour man Ruben Zepuntke (24) of Sunweb Development Team, the An Post-Chainreaction rider spent three hours in the escape.
