This incident was very close, and then the car turned right and off the road almost immediately.
One of the biggest clubs in the country and very successful in the domestic peloton; the boys and girls at Lucan CRC have active club spins all year and were out as usual this weekend.
However, yesterday they were given a bit of a scare with a close pass by one motorist who seemed to be in a hurry.
The car passed them much closer than the other vehicles on the road and had no sooner overtaken the group than it turned right.
The club posted the clip below on its Facebook page with the following message:

"While out on the spin yesterday we were passed by a Mini which could have caused a serious accident had it clipped one of us.
"Within a few seconds of passing it turned right at the next junction!
"There was no oncoming traffic and the cars passing before and after the Mini show how it can be done safely. Check out the clip..."
