Video: Intimidating truck merges like Irish club rider simply isn't there

We've all had moments like this, huge vehicles simply using their size to dominate the space on the road.
Here's a trucker that could do with a couple of hours on the open road on a bike rather than dominating the environment from the cab of his lorry.
A stickybottle reader recorded this clip in north Co Dublin earlier today. It was on the Dublin-Belfast just before the turn for Donabate.
The trucker is catching the cyclist as they come to the junction.
But rather than slow down and hang back for all of three seconds to allow the cyclist clear the pinch point. Nothing is stopping this driver.
He continues in the road like the cyclist isn't there, despite recent crashes like this one and this one.
The cyclist clearly wasn't taking any chances; slowing right down and essentially opting out of the situation.
These are the kind of crazy moves still witnessed regularly on the roads despite countless road safety campaigns urging motorists to give cyclists a bit of space and time.
Is this mild or an everyday occurrence? Let us know what you think.
Size matters for this trucker
