Video: Incredible moment Movistar almost lost a team car at Giro

José Luis Arrieta was midway through an interview with Eurosport presenter Ashleigh House when he realised he left the handbrake up in the team car. And he can count himself very lucky the gradient was not any steeper!
Movistar had a day to remember at the Giro d’Italia when their main GC hopeful Nairo Quintana blitzed the opposition on the ninth stage of the race.
The Colombian blasted clear of his rivals on the final climb up to the summit finish of the Blockhaus, crossing the line 24 seconds clear of runner-up Thibaut Pinot (FDJ).
He is now in the pink jersey going into the first rest day tomorrow and has 28 seconds on Pinot ahead of Tuesday’s time-trial.
While the stage was unfolding, the Movistar DS José Luis Arrieta was having a word with Ashleigh House for Eurosport TV when the unthinkable happened; the team car started to roll down a hill.
We’re not sure how far away the car came to careering off a cliff-face, thanks to the quick reaction of Arrieta and House, it must be said.
Fantastic stuff.
