
Epic Dauphiné undertaking by Froome on Porte
Chris Froome has pulled off a daredevil undertaking pass of Richie Porte at the Critérium du Dauphiné.
The duo were in the lead group of four descending the hors categorie Mont du Chat close to the finish.
It climb came near the end of the 145.5km parcours from Parc des Oiseaux to Villars-les-Dombes.
And after the Astana pair of Fabio Aru and Jakob Fuglsang had pulled clear going up the mountain, Froome and Porte got them back going down.
It was an absolutely terrific descent, with Froome in flying form.
He tore past Porte by undertaking him very close and at huge speeds, as the clip below shows.
Don’t try this at home folks; it’s nowhere near as easy as it looks.
