The women riding the opening stage of the Giro d'Italia today had a lucky escape when a spectator set up his camera on the side of the road, apparently not realising the riders would use the full width of the street as they passed.
When the man realised his camera was in the path of the riders, who were hurtling towards him, he seemed reluctant to jump out of the way and lose his expensive piece of kit.
Instead, he stayed rooted to the spot, out in the road. That forced the riders to go around him, left and right, in what was a crazy move that put everyone at risk.
The dangerous incident was captured by the TV cameras on today's opening stage - 139km from Cesenatico to Ravenna - in which Ireland's Lara Gillespie (UAE Team ADQ) finished 3rd.
The first riders in the group seemed to shout a warning and threw up a hand gesture to warn everyone behind of the danger.
As a result, it seems the riders may have somehow dodged the spectator, even though he was standing directly in their path.
Way too close 😮
