It’s difficult to even watch this rider botch his start off the TT ramp and crash and break his arm - with the hapless officials not even rushing to his aid.
On the day the national time trial titles will be decided, we bring you this astonishing video of a rider in Holland botching his TT start and pay a heavy price.
All looks normal at first, with the rider, Remco Grasman, perched on the bike and about to fly down the ramp from the start house to get his test underway at the Dutch national TT championships yesterday.
But suddenly his start turns into a track stand and he seems unable to right himself.
After a couple of moments Grasman reaches out for a hand rail to steady himself as the officials in the start house make a half-hearted effort to stop him.
But he crashes off the ramp at a considerable height and onto the ground; his arm bending like rubber on impact.

The officials on the stage had no idea what to do when things went wrong and Grasman simply didn't just dart down the ramp and get their race underway.
