The shorter than normal stages at the Tour of the Alps resulted in fantastic racing, with some of the big guns who’ll be riding the Giro d’Italia showing their form.
Chris Froome was not on the final podium, but the Team Sky man was 4th overall. It looks like he is finally coming around.
The race was won, in some style, by Thibaut Pinot (Groupama-FDJ) but 15 seconds from Domenico Pozzovivo (Bahrain-Merida) and Miguel Angel Lopez (Astana).
George Bennett (LottoNL-Jumbo) was next followed by Fabio Aru (UAE Team Emirates) and Ben O'Connor (Dimension Data).
