McLaughlin after being away on his own for 70km on stage 4 of the 2012 Rás into Bundoran in his native Donegal only to be caught and passed in sight of the finish line.
Having returned to race at home in Ireland following six years in Belgium riding with the An Post-Chainreaction team, Ronan McLaughlin is clearly keeping cycling at the centre of his life.
Currently working for the Dig Deep Coaching company and riding for Dig Deep-Inspired Cycling, McLaughlin has also taken on work with the Pactimo US clothing brand.
During the week he told us of his plans to establish a training academy for young riders from his native Donegal with a view to fast tracking their development.
And he's also working on a plan to enter a Donegal team in the An Post Rás next month.
The team is currently in the hunt for a title sponsor and has put together this video to attract a company that would financially back the team.
Have a look and we think you'll agree it's pretty slick.
