The photo that shows the injuries sprinters can suffer in an instant when they crash at full speed; the fall that caused this is captured in the video below. Nacer Bouhanni is patched up everywhere, but he's in some shape!
Having won five Grand Tour stages last year - three at the Giro and two at the Vuelta - French sprinter Nacer Bouhanni was looking forward to trying to take his first Tour de France victory next month.
And his plans in that regard clash directly with the ambitions of Irish man Sam Bennett who will be riding his first Tour, which starts next Saturday, and also hunting for a stage.
Bouhanni has been beaten by Bennett a number of times this year - including when the Carrick man won two stages of the Bayern Rundfahrt.
But at full fitness and with a clear run to the line, Bouhanni would be one of a number of men that Bennett must overcome for a big prize at the Tour.

Bouhanni coming down very hard. It was no surprise to see him covered in road rash; really bad luck with just six days to the start of the Tour.
However, with the fastest man in the world, Marcel Kittel of Giant-Shimano, already ruled out of the Tour, it looks like Bouhanni may be joining him in the sickbay.
The Cofidis man fell very hard on the finishing straight at the French national championships today in Chantonnay.
He was switched badly by FDJ’s Anthony Roux, who went on to finish 2nd behind victor Steven Tronet of Continental team Auber 93 but was disqualified.
After the race Bouhanni Tweeted the photo above saying his ride in the Tour was likely gone as he believed his ribs were broken.
