Video: Gianna Moscon disqualified from Kuurne for aggressive conduct

Gianni Moscon appears to toss another rider's bike out of his way after a crash in Belgium today

Gianna Moscon (Team Ineos) has been disqualified from Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne for aggressive conduct.

The Italian rider appeared to throw another rider's bike out of his way after there had been a crash in the race.

When the footage was reviewed Moscon was informed he was disqualified and was forced to detach himself from the group he was in about 30km after the crash and bike throw.

It is the latest incident involving Moscon during his time at Team Ineos and not the first time he has been disqualified from a race.

Today a crash took place with about 70km to go as several riders fell into the ditch on the right side of the road.

Moscon appears to pick up another rider’s bike and toss it out of his way while a rider was trying to get out of the ditch.

Moscon was disqualified from the 2018 Tour de France on the stage 15 from Millau
to Carcassonne.

He appeared to take his hand off the bars and take a swipe at
Fortuneo-Samsic rider Elie Gesbert, though he has repeatedly insisted his hand
gesture was not an attempt to strike anyone.

Moscon was investigated in 2017 over allegations he deliberately caused
Sébastien Reichenbach of FDJ to crash in Tre Valli Varesine in Italy. However,
the young Italian was later cleared after a UCI investigation.

Reichenbach alleged Moscon wanted to exact revenge on him over an incident
earlier in the year.

Moscon racially abused Reichenbach’s team mate Kevin Reza
at the Tour de Romandie in April, 2017.

And after the incident Reichenbach took to social media to highlight the
incident. Moscon was suspended by Team Sky over the racial slur and sent on a
diversity course.

And the team formally warned him that any repeat would result in his
contract being terminated.

Moscon was also disqualified from the World Championships in 2017. In that
case he took a sticky bottle from the Italian team car; all captured on video
from behind.

Rider and team car farcically continued the tow right into the start of the
pits. Consequently, a very large number of people working on the race witnessed
it.
