Alberto Contador looks pretty pissed off at crashing again on the Vuelta, but the overhead slow mo shows it was his own fault.
Having crashed several times in the Tour de France last month before abandoning, Alberto Contador has hit the deck again.
But this time at the Vuelta the Spaniard only has himself to blame.
The Tinkoff rider limped across the line at the end of 158km from Maceda to Puebla de Sanabria having crashed on a right hand turn well inside the finish.
The depleted peloton was going flat out on the late run in as it attempted to catch breakaway men Luis Leon Sanchez (Astana) Simon Clarke (Cannondale-Drapac).
The duo were swept up leading the way for Jonas Van Genechten (IAM Cycling) to win the stage.
But on a left turn just before the finish Contador was bumped slightly by one of the Lotto-Soudal riders and went straight down.
He didn’t look like he had any injuries that would prevent him continuing and because the spill occurred well inside the final 3km he loses no time overall.
But having already relinquished time on some of the uphill finishes so far, nursing crash injuries is the last thing he needed.
