Video: Fan's video clip shows jacket to blame for Sagan crash

A new video clip shows the infamous fan's jacket was to blame for Peter Sagan's crash that brought himself and others crashing down at the Tour of Flanders.
Peter Sagan is licking his wounds after a crash at the Tour of Flanders that also brought down others. But he's not taking the full blame.
The world champion has shared a video on social media recorded by a fan on the opposite side of the road.
TV viewers could not see what happened because the footage they were shown was shot from above.
And with fans leaning over the barriers the riders were mostly hidden from view when the crash occurred.
Peter Sagan fell first and then Greg Van Avermaet (BMC) and Oliver Naesen (Ag2r-La Mondiale). They were with Sagan in the chase group hunting down eventual winner Philippe Gilbert (QuickStep).
A jacket got caught in Naesen's bike but it seemed it was only thrown over the barriers by the impact of the crash and had not caused it.
The smart money was on Sagan having hit the foot of a crowd control barrier as he rode right on the margin to escape the cobbles.
But the clip below shows Sagan's bars first clipped the jacket. It began the wobble that ended in an instant crash.
He was definitely riding very, very close to the crowd. But it was perhaps not the best place to hang a jacket!
