Video: Dublin cyclist milled by car, followed by most Irish chat ever

This motorist absolutely mills this cyclist at a Dublin crossroads. What follows is the most Irish exchange you'll hear for a long time; brilliant stuff!

The driver and cyclist in the clip below really seem to hit it off after ‘meeting suddenly’ in Dublin city centre in recent days.

The cyclist seems to work for Deliveroo - the restaurant food delivery service - and was riding up the outside of a line of traffic and onto a junction on the canals when the motorist hits him.

The rider is sent flying through the air, with the bike briefly appearing above head height in the clip below.

But despite some colourful and uniquely Irish screams from the cyclist, the exchange is remarkably good humoured and filled with laughter and jokes.

“Normally I’m so careful because I’m a cyclist myself,” the female driver, Geraldine, tells cyclist Andy.

“I didn’t see you; I was looking the other way.”

The good humoured Andy assures her he is “physically alright”.

“I played rugby for years,” he explains as Geraldine laughs a little nervously.

“That was worse than a rugby tackle; I’ll admit that one.”

After Geraldine inquiring if Andy needs a lift anywhere considering his front wheel is badly buckled, he declines, saying he’s ‘Okay’.

“You don’t want to get in the car with me,” Geraldine says, accompanied by more laughter.

They each wish each other well after exchanging numbers, with Andy assuring her: “No hard feelings, we have lives to live”.

Only in Ireland; we love it! Deliveroo, give that man - Cycling Dubliner - a pay increase.
