This video shows a Dublin Bus double-decker mount an oncoming cycle lane to pass a cyclist, in the wet on a narrow street. The clip was recorded by the cyclist's on-board camera.
Dublin Bus mounts cycle lane in Blackrock to overtake cyclist
Dublin Bus has asked the cyclist who recorded this clip of a double-deck driver mounting a cycle lane to send it in for investigation.
The incident occurred at the contraflow cycle lane that runs along Newtown Ave-Main Street, Blackrock, south Dublin.
This stretch is one-way for vehicles. But there is a bike lane - which is supposed to be segregated - on the right. It ensures the area is two-way for cyclists.
The driver of this double decker was driving on the road, with a cyclist ahead of him going in the same direction.
As the video shows, the driver mounts the oncoming bike lane to overtake.

The Dublin Cycling Campaign has highlighted issues with this stretch in the past. It wants flexi wands erected to ensure vehicles can't mount the cycle lane.
And the group last year created a short clip, at the very bottom of this piece, to show how the street could look if safety improvements were made.
