Dublin man chases bike thief down city centre street
Here’s a very frustrating example of an opportunist bike theft from a Dublin street.
It occurred on Granby Row in the north inner city on Thursday night. And it shows how those who want to steal from you don’t need to be asked twice.
The bike owner is locking up his business for the night. He’s about to cycle home and leaves his bike leaning against the outside wall as he gets ready.
However, while he disappears from shot for just a few seconds, a passerby spots the bike.
In an instant he grabs it and he’s gone off down the street. The business owner reappears and realises his bike is gone.
He then chases after the stranger who has just taken the bike. Stickybottle is told he chased him down as far as Dominick St.
However, unable to catch him and realising he’d left his business premises door open, he gave up and went back to finish locking up.
The bike is a black Pinnacle Lythium Hybrid. It has been reported stolen to the Garda.
