The cyclist in the clip below had a very narrow escape as a driver crashed off the road just after he overtook the rider.
Cyclist James Hannaway, who is based in Middlesbrough in England, shared the clip and said he felt that both he and the driver were "inches from death".
"First thing he asked when I got him out of the car (was) 'did I hit you?' Thankfully not," he remarked.
The footage, below, shows the car pass Hannaway at speed - though there is no way of telling if the driver was breaking the speed limit - before the car crashes quite a distance off the main road into the ditch.
When the vehicle comes to a rest on its side, and halfway up a tree, Hannaway goes to check on the driver who, luckily, is on his feet by the end of the clip.
“He just missed me,” Hannaway tells a driver who stops at the scene to check what had happened.
“I think he’s seen me at the last minute and swerved out
and he didn’t make it back.”
