Video: Cyclist's training ride protest in front of car goes viral

This cyclist looks like he lost his cool as the camera was recording from inside the car behind him.

We’re used to seeing cyclists’ videos shared online featuring driving they’re not happy with.

And we’ve shared many cyclist-record videos of close passes here on stickybottle. We do that to continually highlight the problem because it needs to be highlighted.

And footage from bike cameras has in recent years exposed just how dangerous close passes are. Many police forces around the world have been quick to react.

But, of course, it’s not all one-way traffic.

Cyclists are entitled to record other road users on helmet and bike cameras. But drivers can record us too.

And with the proliferation of dashcams and camera phones, we’re being recorded on our bikes now from inside vehicles more than ever.

And here’s a video - recorded in the UK - that should act as a warning to all of us.

It’s important to say here that we don’t know what happened, if anything, between the driver and cyclists before this video starts.

And there is no sound with the clip so that may limit our understanding of what's happening in the clip.

What we do know is that the message posted with this video is unacceptable: "In front of me. This morning. Just a shame he didn't end up on the vans bonnet."

Clearly one of the cyclist’s has been irked in the extreme by this situation. What he doesn’t seem to realise is that the camera is capturing the scene from inside the car.

And the result does not make for easy viewing for us cyclists. It’s now going viral, having been posted on Facebook over the weekend.

At the time of writing it had been viewed just over 700,000 times. It’s been shared 6,800 times and attracted 2,700 comments.

Just be careful out there.
