When this rider gets too close to this idiot driver, things go horribly wrong in an instant. Ouch!
Here’s a clip capturing the perfect example of what can go wrong if you get too close to vehicles you’re sharing the road with.
It also demonstrates just how quickly things can go very, very wrong out of nowhere. That’s not to suggest the bike rider was most at fault.
The motorist is clearly all over the place and takes a sharp right hand bend with no warning; not so much as a late indicator.
So let’s not beat up on the bike rider too much.
Ultimately though, even before he comes a cropper, the cyclist is far too close to the car ahead.
It’s hard to know if he’s trying to get in behind its slipstream or if he simply happens to be on a downhill stretch and is moving at the same speed.
But the moral of this story is clear; give cars a bit of space on the road so when idiot drivers pull crazy moves like this you’ll have time to respond.
You (hopefully) wouldn’t drive your car as close as this to the vehicle ahead, so why do it on a bike when you’re a lot more vulnerable?
