Don't even open your mouth to me. D'ya hear me? Don't even open your mouth. I'm tellin' ya! It has a certain ring to it, as have many of the other incidents when cycling in Dublin traffic, when Benny Hill music is added....
Video: Cycling in Dublin traffic to Benny Hill music
The Stayin’ Alive at 1.5 cycle safety campaign has been sent this video by one of its followers.
It does exactly what it says on the tin; shows what he sees as his many close shaves; to Benny Hill music.
It’s not clear over what timeframe all of these incidents were captured on the cyclist’s headcam.
But, quite clearly, if you’re taking to the roads cycling in Dublin you need to keep your wits about you.
Cycling is growing in the capital like never before. The number of cyclists has doubled in the past six years.
According to the latest Dublin City Council data, 95,000 people are now cycling in Dublin city centre each day.
That’s an increase of 100 per cent on the number of people cycling in Dublin six years ago.
At stickybottle, we reckon driver behaviour has improved, with work to do.
And this clip, of incident after incident, underlines the room for improvement for some of the drivers.
"Don't even open your mouth to me" man is in here because the exchange is typical of the way some drivers interact with some cyclists in Dublin.
It seems the cyclist is trying to warn the driver he is about to enter a bus lane and holds out his arm.
But the van driver is not shown actually entering the lane or committing any other infringements, to be fair to him.
