The Young Offenders movie gets the 'Old Offenders' treatment, all to promote the Cork Santa Cycle.
Them boys in Cork don’t do things by half measure!
They produced one of the best films of the year in 'Young Offenders' and are currently getting Ireland’s newest pro cycling team off the ground, Aqua Blue Sport.
So when it came to promoting the Cork Santa Cycle, the Leesiders continued in that vein of thinking big and executing well.
They’ve made a really class little trailer promo for the event, all done in a 'Young Offenders' style.
One of the tracksuit-clad offenders in the clip is cyclist and triathlete Neville Foott.
He’s the brother of Peter Foott who directed Young Offenders and brother-in-law of top Irish rider Grace Young.
And the other offender in this clip is Connie Wiseman, a well known triathlete from Cork.
Hanging out of a tree brandishing a nail gun and putting up his Christmas decorations (a sentence you don't hear too often - Ed) is Chris Mintern, an extremely handy triathlete and road rider.
The Lord Mayor in the clip – with his ceremonial chain over his Munster rugby jersey - is Des Cahill.
It’s not RTE’s Des Cahill but the actual Lord Mayor of Cork!
This is great; it’s well worth a look. And for all the details on the Cork Santa Cycle, just follow this link.
Hat tippage Grace Young and Tim Barry - well played all!
What's de story boi?
