The start of this overtaking move looks OK, but just keep watching. This is a really big and long vehicle to be moving around like this.
The start of this overtaking move looks OK, but it soon becomes apparent it probably wasn't the greatest idea to pass these riders at this particular spot.
The clip was recorded by cyclist Luke Pepper while out on a club spin in Co Kildare on Tuesday night, between Straffan and Celbridge.
The roads around that area are narrow - as can been seen in this clip - and can also be twisty.
The truck begins its overtaking move on broken white lines. But no sooner has the cab passed the cyclists than the line becomes continuous, meaning overtaking is not permitted.
And the road signs also warn of sharp turns ahead and for vehicles to go 'very slow'.
For good measure, there's also a car approaching from the opposite direction.
Is this a question of size rules; a classic case of a big vehicle knowing other road users will simply have to slow down or get out of the way?
Or on small Irish roads do cyclists simply need to expect this kind of driving and vehicles of this size?
