Video: Check out the number of Irish amateurs following An Post on their Spanish training camp rides

The An Post-Chainreaction riders and staff are currently on a pre-season training camp in Calpe, southern, Spain.

And by the looks of the videos below, large numbers of Irish county riders are joining them on some of their rides.

The clips, shot by double Rás winner Philip Cassidy of DID Dunboyne, show a large group of county men sitting on the An Post group, so much so that the ride has the look of a sportive.

Undoubtedly when the team has gone harder for longer and hit some climbs they have shed their companions from the Irish domestic scene.

However, some of the county men have also joined the Astana and FDJ teams on the roads in the area; sitting on the back of them as the pro squads catch and pass them on the road.

It's great to see the An Post boys mixing with the fan base; top marks.

It must be the only sport in the world where amateur athletes can join the big stars training; just one more reason, if one were needed, why cycling rocks.
