Cavendish didn't seem too impressed with this selfie stick-wielding fan on the climb in Britain and pulled over to have a word with him.
Mark Cavendish is one of the great characters of the sport and one of the most prolific winners pro cycling has ever seen.
But, as we all know, he is prone to getting a bit cranky every now again.
And on stage 2 of the Tour of Britain today when he had just been assisting Dimension Data team mate Steve Cummings close the gap on the breakaway at the time, he decided to stop to have a word with a fan.
The Manxman stopped on the climb of The Struggle and after turning his bike and having a chat with the fan – a man who didn’t seem too fazed it must be said – Cavendish was back on his way.
Nicolas Roche (Team Sky), Conor Dunne (JLT Condor) and Ryan Mullen (Cannondale Drapac) were clear in a large breakaway on 188.2km road from Carlisle to Kendal.
It would be caught by a group from behind with Julien Vermote of Etixx-Quick Step winning from Cummings.
Dan Martin was best of the Irish in 3rd some 58 seconds behind, with Roche in 10th and 1:07 down on the stage winner.
Report to follow.
