Video: Car flips in Dublin; watch the cyclists, lucky escape jogger
The cyclists on the right, not to mention the jogger in pink, were lucky they weren't passing a second or two later.
AA Roadwatch has posted this clip of a car flipping over in Dublin traffic earlier today.
The motorists’ group said it was sharing it as a reminder to drivers to take extra care on the roads during the Bank Holiday Weekend.
For us, as cyclists, the clip really captures how quickly things can go badly wrong around us on the roads. And at lightening speeds.
The vehicle that flips over, on Kimmage Rd in Dublin 6W, clips another car parked by the side of the road.
And in the blink of an eye it's skidding across the road the wrong way up - as you can see from the video at the end of this piece.

Thankfully the driver of the flipped car escaped without serious injury.
We can just about see the two cyclists in the clip, to the right of shot. One is in the top right corner wearing a hi-vis top. The other is on the extreme right just about visible but partially obscured by the lamppost on the right margin of the photo.

The oncoming white jeep had a close call and was forced to take evasive action.
It darts into the cycle lane and up onto the footpath as the crashed car skids across the road on its side.
There’s a jogger – a woman dressed in pick - to the right of shot. She's on the footpath as the white car drives onto the pavement.
She is forced to run to get herself out of the way. And she must have gotten the fright of her life.
Cyclists, stay safe out there
There are also two cyclists in this shot; oncoming towards the crashed car. They are in the cycle lane to the right of shot.
And while they are a good distance from the vehicle when its crashes, they stop fairly lively.
They are lucky men they weren't passing a few seconds later.
Cyclists don’t exactly need a reminder to stay safe out there. We all know there have been a spate of fatalities on the roads of late.
But this clip really shows we must always expected the unexpected. (Sorry for poor quality of clip)
