Video: Aqua Blue Sport launch day film from south of France

This slick new three-minute clip officially launches Aqua Blue Sport on its first day as a UCI Pro Continental team; the footage shot through the streets of the south of France is terrific.

Team Aqua Blue Sport has begun life as a ProContinental team today, January 1st, and though the riders won't be in action until the end of the month there is a huge buzz around the outfit.

Backed by Cork businessman Rick Delaney, it also features well-known former international rider Tim Barry as a sporting director.

And on the rider roster are three top Irishmen; Matt Brammeier, Martyn Irvine and Conor Dunne.

The team's first event is the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Race in Australia in four weeks time, with Dunne already named in the line-up for that contest.

And while the squad's media launch does not take place for another week, it has published the first of its videos today.

Delaney explains what the team is all about; saying it is not sponsored by his Aqua Blue company but is instead part of the company.

And we also hear from Barry and Irvine and some of the international riders and staff. All in all, a very sweet three minutes of film.

From the home scene, Tim Barry is making the jump into the pro ranks as a sporting director. Barry won most of the big races in Ireland during a career that only ended a few years ago. And having raced abroad with club, regional and Irish teams, he brings a huge amount to the table and will also learn a lot about the sport in the period ahead.
