With 1,000 bikes for the staff to get around, cycling trails are also going into the massive new campus.
Apple’s new campus in California, which is due to open later this year, is so large 1,000 bikes are being ready so that staff can move around on them.
Up to 15,000 staff will be accommodated at the Campus 2 HQ in Cupertino, California. The main building is the spaceship-like 1 Infinite Circle, which is a mile in circumference.
While that main building is a staggering 2.8 million square feet, the major of the 176 acre campus site will be given over to green space.
And while there are several multi storey car parks and also underground parking, Apple clearly sees the bicycle as having a big role when the campus finally opens sometime later this year.
Some 1,000 bikes are to be made available for staff to use to get around.
And because the campus will be like a busy town; more and more bike lanes were added to the plans in recent years to ensure cycling was truly encouraged, as the image below reveals.
And while the company is clearly accommodating motorists by providing a few thousand car parking spaces, those into keeping feet will have a field day.
Not only will much of the green space be made into jogging and cycling trails, but there is also a huge gym on site.
