When one fan started to get messy, another dude stepped him and softened his cough very promptly.
We’ve seen some dodgy running fans at this Tour, but on yesterday’s stage a spectator took things into his own hands.
When he saw another fan running alongside Julian Alaphilippe on the Grand Colombier ascent, he decided enough was enough.
He grabbed the running dude and pulled him into the side of the road.
It is perhaps best not to do this if you’ve ever in the same position, but at least it was a reminder – if one was needed – that most of those by the roadside have respect for the riders and given them space.
The incident follows Chris Froome (Team Sky) appealing to fans to stage back after he had slapped a Colombian fan on stage 8, which he (Froome, not the Colombian fan) went on to win.
And on the stage in Andorra George Bennett (LottoNL-Jumbo) absolutely clobbered a fan who stepped into the road.
Cowboys and indians
More spectators should do this.

The Chris Froome smack
That's got to be worth a few extra bonus seconds. #TDF #TDF2016 https://t.co/w070TOnn7N
