Video: Angry father pulls steel barriers into bunch, causes huge crash

The spectator on the right in green was upset his son crashed so he pulled the crowd control barriers into the road as the others very flying towards it.

The little-known Tour Cycliste Antenne Reunion on the island of Réunion in the Indian Ocean has been the scene of a horrible incident in which the father of one of the riders deliberately caused others in the race to crash.

Rider Jonathan Boyer (Sainte-Marie Velo Club) crashed during yesterday’s race but his father was apparently unhappy that the race wasn’t neutralised.

So Jean-Bernard Boyer, the rider’s father, later pulled the steel crowd control barriers into the path of other riders, as can be seen in the clip below.

He did so when some of the riders were speeding towards the finish and had no time to slow down or get out of the way.

Local reports suggest he was targeting a rider he believed was involved in causing the crash that had taken down his son earlier in the race.
