Video: 300 attempts over 5 hours to nail brilliant trick this once

Danny Macaskill is an absolute wizard on a bike. But all of those spectacular tricks videos take a huge amount of effort, as this clip demonstrates.

He may already be a legend in his own lifetime but even superstars like Danny Macaskill have to sweat blood and tears to perfect what they do.

The 29-year-old Scottish trials rider has already brought us fantastic riding in clips like Imaginate and The Ridge; both below.

But he’s an ambitious and prolific man and is currently working away on his next release, Drop and Roll.

The clip below features just one of the moves from that, which MacAskill himself has labelled ‘the hippy hop knee slide’.

He posted the footage on his Facebook page with a message explaining the kind of effort that had gone into this trick, which will fill no more than a few seconds of screen time when Drop and Roll is released.

“I have been wanting to do this trick for so long so was so stoked to eventually manage to pull it off for the new Drop and Roll Video,” he said.

“In the end it took over 5 hours and 300 attempts and a selection of crashes! Enjoy!”

Moral of the story? Whatever you’re trying to achieve, you need to stick with it!
