Mathieu van der Poel has crashed hard at the Tour of Flanders and was very unlucky not to avoid the fall.
He punctured at the side of the road, with his front wheel clearly flat as he tried to slow down.
Van der Poel went up on the pavement and it looked like he was going to stop, and at least avoid falling.
However, his flat front wheel then went into a small shore on the pavement and he want over the handlebars at slow speed.
He had been forced to bunnyhop into a planter and it appeared the impact of that caused at least one of his wheels to puncture.
Van der Poel slowed right down and then raised his arm, looking for assistance. But he came off the bike when he had only one hand on the bars.
It looked for a moment like he may have broken is collarbone but thankfully that was not the case.
His Corendon Circus team mate Lasse Norman Hansen was with him. And after gathering himself, Van der Poel was back on his bike chasing hard.
At the time of writing he was back in with the peloton, close to the front as his team mate chased the breakaway.
