We've seen some idiot spectators down the years causing havoc at bike races, with riders even being taken down by fans getting carried away on the climbs at the Grand Tours.
But these two men who ventured out to watch the Giro d'Italia stage 16 yesterday put on the most bizarre display we've ever seen.
And while their actions were missed by the public - because TV pictures were lost due to the weather - footage has now emerged of the incident.
The two men brought chainsaws onto the final climb of the day, the Passo Giau. And when race leader Egan Bernal (Ineos Grenadiers) was racing up the climb alone out front, the two spectators ran alongside him, brandishing their chainsaws.
Both of them were on the wrong side of the crowd control barriers, having stepped into the road to run alongside the riders, on a very wet road and in really cold conditions.
Thankfully there were no accidents, though with this display - incredibly, running alongside tired riders up a climb in the wet while carrying chainsaws - they were really asking for trouble.
