The countdown is underway for the UCI Cyclocross World Cup round in Dublin, with tickets now on sale and the opportunity now open to work at the event.
This year’s racing will take place on December 1st, which is a slightly earlier than the first year of the Dublin World Cup but a week later than last year.
The November date last year meant Wout Van Aert (Visma-Lease a Bike) and world champion Mathieu van der Poel (Alpecin-Deceuninck) skipped the Irish race. They wanted to shorten their cyclocross seasons with an eye on staying fresh for the spring classics.
And though racing in Dublin on December 1st is far from a guarantee both – and Tom Pidcock (Ineo Grenadiers) - will be on the start line, it increases the chances somewhat, though Van Aert is still returning from injury.
While the main race day is Sunday, December 1st, there are also national-level races at the same venue on Saturday, November 30th.
The event is once again being hosted on the Sport Ireland Campus, Abbotstown, west Dublin, and tickets are €20 for adults and free for children.
You can buy tickets by following this link, and you must get a ticket for children, even though there is no charge.
You can also now register to wok as a volunteer at the event, with the deadline for getting your name in expiring on Monday, November 4th.
You can register by following this link, which requests some basic details before the organisation will get back to you.
