This Irish cyclist had a pre-Christmas scare when a truck driver overtook him and just avoided the oncoming traffic coming towards them, as the video below shows.
The cyclist, who goes under the @righttobikeit handle on Twitter - was riding in Co Cork just before Christmas when a number of drivers caught him on the road and waited patiently behind for a safe place to pass.
However, as the drivers in the cars waited the truck driver behind them began beeping in an apparent bid to hurry the drivers. When the continuous white line gave way to a broken white line the two car drivers passed the cyclist safely without incident.

Then the truck driver caught the cyclist and overtook, towing a long trailer. He just avoided the oncoming cars in the process. The last section of the first video below shows just how close it was.
The rider has also collated something of a 'greatest hits' of close calls and disputes with drivers on the roads this year; that video is the second clip below. There's a bit of choice language in that second video so just be warned.
