Tributes have been paid to Donegal cyclist Adrian Mullan who was killed following a collision with a vehicle while out training near his home on Saturday.
The father of three children was hit by a van on the Inishowen peninsula a little after 9am.
A spokesperson for the club he was a member of, Foyle CC, said he was a “much loved gentleman and often took on charity events to raise funds.
“Most recently, he organised a two-day charity ride of two laps of the Inishowen 100.
“He recently completed the London to Paris ride with a large number of local cyclists in aid of the Foyle Hospice.”
Club Chairman Simon Gill said in a statement: “Foyle CC is numb with shock and devastated at the loss of long time member Adrian Mullan today.
“Adrian was a true gentleman who will be sorely missed.
“The club sends its sincere condolences to his wife Patricia and children Gemma, Rachael and Joshua, wider family and friends.
“All club activities are suspended for the time being.”
Further details on his funeral are to be finalised but it will be at St Brigid’s Church, Carnhill, Derry, on Wednesday.
The other cyclist who was involved in the incident underwent surgery in Letterkenny for injuries to his elbow and has not suffered life-threatening injury.
