The Tour of Omagh takes place this weekend and sizeable fields have been assembled for both the women's race and the men's A4 event.
Tour of Omagh men's and women's start lists
The Tour of Omagh takes place on the Ulster scene this weekend, with two races; one for A4 men and one for women.
The races get underway this evening with a 43 mile road race. Tomorrow morning, stage 2 consists of a 2.5 mile TT.
Stage 3 takes place tomorrow afternoon; a 46 mile road race. And the events are completed on Sunday with another road race stage; this time a 46.5 mile event.
Promoting club Omagh Wheelers has attracted a sizeable field in the women’s race; perhaps the biggest of the year aside from Rás na mBan.
Equal prize money is on offer in the A4 men’s race and the women’s event. As well as the general classification; there are also points, climbers’ and young rider classifications in each race.

And the handicapped format of the women’s race, along with the prize money, appears to have acted as a considerable draw for women.
