Cycling on Christmas Day is a rite of passage for some of this lot, but it's one sure way to get the frying pan over the head in certain cases!
It's the time of year where some riders are on holidays and use the time to put miles in the bank....
We asked 10 more Irish riders for their festive traditions ...
Eoin Mullen - International track sprinter

“I stayed on in Australia after the last World Cup but I think I’ll be having a cheat day.”
Matt Brammeier – Road pro with Dimension Data

“My fiancee Nikki Harris is competing in a cyclocross World Cup race in Zolder in Belgium so I'll go to the course with her and do a few laps.
“After that I’ll possibly ride home and if I'm lucky I might have some sort of dinner waiting for me.”
Simon Ryan (Mego Racing Team) – 2015 Rás Luimní winner

“I couldn't be having the mother washing clothes as well haha. It’s important to take that day off to spend time with the family opening presents and watching movies.”
Martin Mizgajski (Rosbury Racing)

“I will be chasing the turkey on the road on Christmas Day. It is the safest day of the year on the road. ..around 1pm there is nobody on the road.
Chris Reilly (Team ASEA) - 2015 Dan O'Donovan memorial winner

“This year it will be training, but more just to get out for a spin.
“I’ve been busy with work the last while so I need to make the most of my days off.”
Stephen Murray (Strata3/VeloRevolution)

“It will be 100% turkey because I'll get frying pan to the face if I tried to get out on the bike on Christmas day - and I have enough stitches already!”
Rory Wyley (Carrick Wheelers)

“I'll do both. Training may be a run, but it is not so much training any more, just enjoying exercise.”
Thomas Fallon (Team ASEA)

“I might get out and do an hour in the morning depending on the mood but definitely not training.
“It will just be an easy spin to take the sharpness off the guilt for the amount of food I will eat later that day.”
David McCarthy - Road pro with JLT Condor Cycles

“The last few years I've just done an easy hour on Christmas Day, nothing ever structured or too long.
“I just do it to kill time waiting for dinner so I'll probably do the same this year, but generally I see it as a day for family!”
Ciarán Power (Comergah CC) - Ex-pro, national champion and two-time Rás winner

“As cyclists we normally come up with any excuse during the year not to go out on a bike i.e it's to cold, wet or I have a touch of man flu.
“So on Christmas day it's all about family time; no bike but I will get a big block done over the holidays with the Comeragh Rás team. Ho ho ho!”
