Top Irish riders confirmed for National Road Champs in Co Wicklow

Ryan Mullen, who has won the TT and road race crowns multiple times, will be at the National Road Championships in Co Wicklow next month

The first leading Irish cyclists have been confirmed for the National Road Championships set to take place in Co Wicklow in just under two weeks.

In the men's race, Ryan Mullen (Trek Segafredo) and Eddie Dunbar (Ineos Grenadiers) are confirmed starters.

The reigning road race champion, Ben Healy (Trinity Racing) and TT champion, Conn McDunphy (EvoPro Racing), are also set for Wicklow for the title races.

In the women's events, Megan Armitage of Team Rupelcleaning - the sole elite female selected for the World Championships this week, is a confirmed starter. Fiona Mangan, the Greenmount Cycling Academy rider currently leading the Cycling Ireland National Road Series, is also due to start in Wicklow.

Interestingly, Olympic silver medal winner in sailing, Annalise Murphy, is down to ride both the TT and road races. She has already race impressively at the Corkagh Park series this year and it will be interesting to see what she can do in bigger company and on tougher terrain.

Entries for all the championships
TTs close on midnight this Thursday, September 23rd, for the title
races which take place on Thursday of next week, September 30th.

Entries for the senior women’s and
junior men’s road races close at midnight this Saturday, September 25th
and those races take place on Saturday, October 2nd.

The elite-U23 men’s road race and the junior women’s road race are both on Sunday, October 3rd. Entries for those events close at midnight this Sunday, September 26th.
