It's been one of the feel good factor sportives of the year in Ireland, but now time has run out to get your entry in; you have until midnight tonight, Sunday.
The organisers of one of the country’s biggest cycling events are closing the entry at midnight tonight, Sunday; so get your name down now or you'll need to wait for another year.
The second edition of the closed-road ‘Gran Fondo Giro d’Italia Northern Ireland’ will take place from Belfast on Sunday June 5th.
And every rider who registers before midnight will get a fantastic goody bag, not to mention a great day out with a great route on closed roads.
On the day of the event, there are two options for riders; the 173-kilometre Mourne route which costs €80 or £65 to enter and the 58-kilometre Strangford route, costing €70 or £55.
Entries for this year’s event have been streaming in, with former Giro winners Stephen Roche and Gianni Bugno just two of those already signed up.
It’s all part of continuing the legacy following the city’s successful hosting of the Giro d’Italia Gran Depart two years ago.
And with the race's big start having proven a huge success, the afterglow was still very much in evidence at last year's Grand Fondo.
The sportive is the Northern Ireland Tourist Board’s and Giro owner RCS's way of continuing the buzz created with the race's visit to these shores and it’s hoped that even more will take part in this year’s event.

The choice of two routes means you can opt to test yourself with a long day in the saddle, or opt for some more gentle.
