Tobias Ludvigsson was riding his eyeballs out at the head of the Vuelta and destined to be caught, but he still had a bit of craic along the way.
The FDJ WorldTour squad member took time to get some air going over a speed bump while leading the Vuelta on stage 9 today.
He had forged clear of the 11-man Vuelta breakaway with Marc Soler (Movistar).
And with the TV cameras following their every move, Ludvigsson went back to his MTB routes with this impressive jump.
The 26-year-old Swede has been a road pro since 2010. He rode first with Team CykelCity.se before moving to Skil-Shimano.
He stayed with that team as it morphed into Giant-Shimano and then Giant Alpecin.
Ludvigsson joined FDJ during last winter and is currently in the first year of a two-year contract.
However, he started in MTB and won three Swedish junior MTB titles as well as the road title back in 2008.
He clearly hasn’t lost those MTB skills and wasn’t shy to show them off today; nice to see these riders enjoying themselves.
