Three short preview films on what looks like the best Vuelta for decades

This is the strongest Vuelta field for a generation. The only names missing from a really massive group of Vuelta favourites are Bradley Wiggins and Tour winner Vincenzo Nibali. Above, Froome leads Wiggins in the 2012 Tour (Photo: Stefano Sirotti)

A quick look at the 'Top 10 Contenders" video below really drives home the quality in the Vuelta a Espana, which is set to start tomorrow, Saturday, with a team time trial.

The two big favourites when the Tour de France started in early July, Chris Froome (Team Sky) and Alberto Contador (Tinkoff-Saxo) are back after crashing out of that race.

Our own Dan Martin, the Garmin Sharp rider whose Giro was ended by a stage 1 broken collar bone, is also in his big comeback race looking for a major result.

And first and second in the Giro - Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and Rigoberto Uran (Omega Pharma-Qucikstep) - are both in the field, not to mention Joaquim Rodriguez of Katusha.

The full list of riders featured in the clip below are: Wilco Kelderman (Belkin), Dan Martin (Garmin-Sharp), Joaquim Rodriguez (Katusha), Alejandro Valverde (Movistar), Rigoberto Uran (Omega Pharma Quickstep), Fabio Aru (Astana), Chris Horner (Lampre Merida), Chris Froome (Team Sky), Alberto Contador (Tinkoff-Saxo) and Nairo Quintana (Movistar).

Stickybottle’s prediction is for a Froome-Quintana-Martin podium, in that order.
