Thefts of bikes may be ten a penny now as thieves realise how much many of the mounts in circulation will fetch on the black market in Ireland.
But that doesn’t mean you have to take the crime lying down.
When one Dubliner’s bike was stolen in Kevin St in the south inner city, he penned a witty letter appealing for its return and posted it in the spot where the theft took place.

Hopeful his creativity may lead to some information that can reunite him with the bike, he also included an email address.
As well as an innuendo filled message, he’s also penned small pictures that turn the note into a work of art.
There is one small thing missing though; a photo – or even a description - of the robbed bike. D’oh!
