Eddie Dunbar has had his season halted - for now - after he crashed while moto pacing out training last month during a trip home from his team's US base. Pictured above at the Kanturk Three Day with the lads who won the A4 team prize with Orwell Wheelers.
Irish teenager Eddie Dunbar was the best junior in the country for his two years in the category and from his first day as an U23 at the start of last year he was signed with a pro team.
He spent last season with NFTO Pro Cycling in the UK before moving to the American outfit Axeon Hagens Berman Cycling Team for 2016.
It's run by former Belgian international and Olympic medalist Axel Merckx and rides some huge pro races.
But while only breaking his collar bone two weeks ago, Dunbar is already cleared to do some training.
And in the sign of his lack of pretentiousness; when the Kanturk Three Day was being run this weekend by the club that got him on the road - O'Leary's Stone Kanturk - Dunbar got stuck in to help out.
He can be seen in these shots not only posing for photos at the prize presentation but also getting his hi-viz bib on and grabbing a flag to make sure the riders stayed safe.
It's great to see he hasn't lost his sense of club and that he's willing to muck in, despite usually having others to look after him when riding with his trade team or international duty for Ireland.
As they say on TV; chapeau!
Not a bother: Dunbar on helping out duty at the race run by his local club.
Dunbar clearly hasn't lost his interest in the home scene and could be seen cheering on the O'Leary's Stone Kanturk riders today.
