This was Sam Bennett just one week ago, his back and shoulders covered in deep road rash. But the photos below show just how fast the wounds of battle have healed.
Sam Bennett looks to have made an amazing recovery from the road rash wounds he suffered during a sprint finish crash at the Scheldeprijs one-day road race in Belgium last Wednesday.
The Irishman did not sustain any broken bones in the huge spill. However, as the photo above reveals, he suffered severe road rash.
And he was also diagnosed with whiplash after falling on his head, neck and back at speed inside the final kilometre of racing.
He was kept in hospital for observation for a night but having had just one week to recover, the photo below shows his back and shoulders are almost completely cleared up.

Still looking a bit battered, but this photo posted by Bennett on social media shows just how quick a fit young athlete's body heals.
Bennett came down very hard as he was lining himself up for a great position in the final sprint that settled the race.
He was bumped hard by an Astana rider and was one of the first to fall, with a huge number of men taken crashing down onto the tarmac at high speed.
He shrugged off the spill, saying it was part and parcel of sprinting at this level.
