The owners of Eurosport have issued an update on their dispute with Sky.
Cycling fans who see the top pro races in the world every season by tuning into Eurosport will be pleased to hear the channel is staying.
There were real fears that customers of Sky were about to lose Eurosport from tomorrow, February 1st, in a row over money.
Discovery Networks, which owns Eurosport and a number of other channels it sells to Sky in a bundle, complained the fee Sky was willing to pay to renew their deal was simply too low.
However, Sky hit back saying the price they were offering was more than enough.
The dispute seemed destined to result in Eurosport and the other Discovery Network-owned channels being absent from Sky customers’ TV screens from midnight tonight.
However, Discovery Networks has this evening released a statement (below) saying an agreement has been reached.
That means its channels - Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 as well as 11 other channels - would remain available to Sky customers.
It also thanked viewers of Eurosport for taking to social media and sending a message to Sky that they wanted to retain Eurosport.
