The seven biggest dates for the Irish cyclocross season 2024-25

Cycling Ireland has confirmed the biggest dates for the upcoming 2024-25 cycling season, though there is still a lot of road rásing to be done before the home scene turns to the muddy stuff again.

However, there is now certainty for those who want to give the season a good rattle, including targeting international selection for the Europeans, UCI World Cup and Worlds.

The national governing body has set out the schedule - including venues - for the four-part National Cyclocross Series, as well as the provincial championships, UCI World Cup Cyclocross Dublin and the National Cyclocross Championships.

That latter fixture, the nationals, does not take place until early next year, and many of the other key fixtures are also quite some time away so you won't need to dust down your cyclocross bikes just yet.

However, the fact the main pillars of next season are being set out now at least brings certainty for riders who want to give the season a big focus.

The 2025 Cyclocross National Championships are going to Connacht and Co Galway as Ballinasloe play host, with the event taking place on Saturday and Sunday, January 11th and 12th.

Four rounds of the Cyclocross National Series will see each province take centre stage for their respective round.

VC Glendale are back to host the opening round on October 6th following a successful premiere in 2023. Western Lakes CC will host round two on October 27th before the third round sees action descend on Upperchurch Drombane CC on November 24th.

The series concludes on December 29th as Bellurgan Wheelers, the 2023 National Championships hosts, welcome riders to McCrystals Track.

The UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup returns on December 1st as previously announced here while the Provincial Championships will take place in their traditional slots, this year falling on December 8th.
