A teenager in Dublin has had his new Orbea bike stole
during a street mugging in which he was threatened with a knife.
Two male attackers, one with the knife, mugged the
teenager in Clontarf, north Dublin, yesterday afternoon at about 4pm.
The victim (16) was cycling along the coast beside St
Anne’s Park, close to the old duck pond, when the two attackers approached him.
One of them was on a bike while the other was on foot.
They were described as being of about 6ft in height; one with blonde hair and
the other with dark hair.
The victim’s father told stickybottle that both of the
males who attacked his son were wearing North Face hoodie tops and they were
about 18 years old with strong Dublin accents.
The Orbea bike was taken from the teenager at knifepoint
at the car park near the entrance to St Anne’s Park off James Larkin Road on
the coast.
The area is very popular with cyclists as a two-way segregated cycleway towards Howth Head and Fairview runs along the coast at the location where the knife-point mugging occurred.
The victim turned 16 years old only last week and received the bike as a birthday present just last Monday.
The stolen bike is pictured above and below. If anyone sees it around or sees it being offered for sale they could contact Clontarf Garda station.
