First look at Nicolas Roche's new Team Sky Irish champ's kit

For the second time in his career, Nicolas Roche will wear the Irish national champion's kit and we have to say, it's pretty awesome. It's predominantly white but green and black also feature. As per usual, the tricolour is wrapped around the left sleeve, though not on the collar.

National road and time-trial champion Nicolas Roche has released the first pictures of the kit he will wear for the next 12 months, or at least as long as he is a Team Sky rider.

He posted it on his Twitter feed this morning before heading to the Tour of Poland as part of an eight–man line-up.

It’s a total change from Team Sky’s black and blue jerseys that are so often seen towards the front of races, meaning Roche will be impossible to miss.

Nicolas Roche's new ones and twos; very nice indeed.

It’s a predominantly white jersey with the tricolour on the left sleeve and a thick green band around the centre upon which the distinctive shamrock logo is positioned.

The team’s various sponsors; Sky, Rapha, Pinarello and 21st Century Fox, amongst others are all positioned in the usual places around the jersey.

The skinsuit Roche will wear for time-trials will carry the same design.

He will also have a specially-made road bike though that is not quite ready for this week’s assignment.

Roche didn’t post a picture of the shorts he’ll wear but we suspect (and hope) they will be black. And Roche also has a new pair of green and white Sidi shoes to go with the new livery.

Roche last wore the national champion's kit when he rode for Ag2r La Mondiale during the 2009/10 season. The new design for the Team Sky jersey is not too dissimilar.
