Eddie Dunbar will not ride the Vuelta a España, with his name not among the riders selected by Team Ineos today.
There had been speculation the 22-year-old Irishman would be called up to the team for the Spanish Grand Tour.
In the past 24 hours that speculation mounted after the Vuelta organisers added Dunbar's name to the provisional start list for the race, which gets underway this weekend.
However, Team Ineos has wisely decided one Grand Tour is enough this season for someone of Dunbar's age.
He is still aged just 22 years and has already ridden the Giro this year as well as a host of other stage races and one-day events.
In his absence from the Vuelta, Team Ineos will be led by Tao Geoghegan Hart and Wout Poels.
The Team Ineos line-up also includes Owain Doull, Kenny
Elissonde, Sebastian Henao, Vasil Kiryienka, Salvatore
Puccio and Ian Stannard.
