Team Sky has begun its transition to Team Ineos, with the
squad appearing under Team Ineos livery for the first time today at the Tour de
Romandie.
The new kit was unveiled by Geraint Thomas, who is in
Romandie gearing up towards his Tour defence in July.
The kit the riders are using is Romandie is something of
a hybrid between its new Team Ineos identity and its outgoing Team Sky look.
The formal change of team name only occurs tomorrow, on
May 1st. However, because the Tour of Romandie begins today, it
spans the term of the outgoing team identity and the incoming.
And so the squad has had to use a hybrid temporary kit
just for this race. It will be unveiled as Team Ineos proper at the Tour de
Yorkshire.
But the appearance of the temporary Romandie kit today is
the first time the riders will compete under the Ineos livery.
